In 2000, Kelly and I had a chance to visit two American bombers near Talasea on New Britain.
Both of these bombers were located on an emergency airstrip used during WWII. The both landed within 75 yards of each other on two seperate instances.

The next bomber on this airstrip is a B-25 Mitchell H model. The USA only produced 1000 of these H models during the war so they are very rare. The one pictured here is the last one in the world of its kind. The H model had a 75mm cannon in its nose used for sinking Japenese barges. For more info on this bomber please click on:
